The CHEMA - COVID-19 Study, allows establishing how the intention of academic persistence of the students of a university, was related to the changes in study habits and learning motivations (CHEMA, in Spanish) presented during the mandatory preventive isolation (APO, in Spanish) lived in Colombia, following the COVID-19 pandemic. It is an investigation of longitudinal and descriptive correlational scope, with a fixed panel probabilistic sample, which identifies the environmental factors of the student’s learning, the methodology adopted by the teachers and the institutional actions, in a positive correlation with the decision of academic continuity. The results allow us to estimate a dropout rate for the second semester of 2020, and to identify its disaggregated behavior in the educational population and other intervening variables
