In times of censorship and worldwide well-known press bias with severe examples in Colombia, this article provides a partial comparative analysis between RCN Noticias and Caracol Noticias regarding the discursive construction both media made about the social and indigenous minga in 2019 in Colombia and the attempt of “humanitarian aid” for Venezuela led by The United States of North America in 2019. The theoretical framework used included Critical Discourse Analysis and the Appraisal Theory regarding the Commitment Subsystem, always with a qualitative approach. This research attempts to clarify
how journalism is made and how it can be perfected in order to strengthen the democratic society
